Richie Sambora, one of the guitarists for legendary rock band Bon Jovi, may not have quit the group's latest tour as previously reported. It now seems that the rocker was kicked off of the jaunt for his substance abuses issues.
According to the New York Post, Bon Jovi decided that his band mate had to leave.
Last year, Bon Jovi’s daughter was rushed to hospital after a suspected heroin overdose and the singer has supposedly promised his wife that this tour would remain clean and drug free. This meant that Sambora had to go.
A source told the Post “Jon has been trying to get rid of him. He drinks constantly and has a stream of Hollywood bimbos around all the time. At the urging of his wife, Dorothea, Bon Jovi wants to keep the tour free of booze and drugs”.
The troubled guitarist, who has been to rehab twice before, is apparently not into sobriety right now. The source added “he told me that he didn’t believe in rehab. He really is a hard partier, and so are the women he hangs out with”.
Theofilos Xenidis is filling in for Richie Samora on the tour until April 25th. After that there are no confirmed plans.
